How to Measure Your Roof Pitch
To find your roof pitch using rise and run, you need to measure the vertical rise over a known horizontal distance (run). Follow these steps:

- Place one end of the level against the rafter or roof surface and hold it level.
- Measure vertically from the level's 12-inch mark up to the underside of the rafter or roof deck. This vertical distance is your rise.
